My name is Aloyce Hudson and I am a Social Studies Teacher. In the fall of 1999 I will teach American History, American Government, and Economics (grades 11-12) at the Northwest Education Center (NEC) formerly known as the Vocational Technical Center (V-Tech) in the Deer Valley Unified School District.

For the past nine years I taught at- risk youth (grades 9-12) as an Alternative Program Instructor at the V-Tech Center. It was computer based, individualized instruction, teaching all of the required courses: English, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science needed for a high school diploma. My responsibilities included developing the math and social studies curriculum. Formerly was a Study Hall/ On Campus Suspension Teacher also for the district.

I have been a Special Ed (EH/LD) Teacher with the Phoenix Union High School District and Adobe Mountain Juvenile Correctional Institute. Taught Social Studies for the Glendale Union High School District and the Phoenix Union High School District as well as an Educational Assistant/Adolescent Care Worker for Camelback Hospital and a Correctional Officer for Stateville Penitentiary in Joliet, Illinois. As you can see, I have had a variety of experiences.

I became a teacher to enable me to spend lots of time with my family which is my number one priority. Education is my love; I come alive when helping students succeed. My educational philosophy is all students can learn and succeed if teachers have high expectations of them and are caring, committed, and respectful.

My educational goals are to become computer proficient, develop engaging technology-based curriculum, and obtain my certificate in Administration and Supervision.
