I've always thought that when I
grew up I wanted to be a teacher. Some people grow up faster than
others. My "growing" was slow. My son tells me that I will never grow
up. But, I have achieved my goal, I'm a teacher.

After twenty some years working
in corporate America, I found myself faced with the situation of
starting over. I worked for a computer leasing company for sixteen
years and became the trouble shooter of their inventory data base.
With the changes in the computer industry, the company was sold and I
was looking for work. Because my expertise was the company, I knew
that I would be starting from the bottom no matter what I did. When I
attended out-placement counseling, I always came away with one focus.
I was told to remember back to my childhood. What was the one thing
you most liked to do. The one thing I most liked to do was "play
school".

So I went back to school and now I
get to "play school" every day. I have been teaching for three years
and have never been happier in my life. I teach Computers and
Mathematics. I love Math and always have. I believe that math is like
a big game. I enjoy sharing that belief with my students. (Some of
them never come around to my love for math, but I try.) Technology is
our future. It is exciting to coach students into being life long
learners in the computer field.

I have enjoyed being girl's
track coach at Cocopah. I look forward to another winning season with
the track team.
