After graduating from Grand Canyon University in 1997, I began my career as a K-3 Special Education teacher for the Alhambra Elementary School District. I chose to go into Special Education because I enjoy working with disabled children, as well as interpreting test scores. Not only have I worked with disabled children in grades K-3, I have had the unique opportunity to interface with regular education students and teachers in grades K-8. I work collaboratively with teachers to prepare and present lessons for the good of the general population, modifying the material as needed.
Outside of the classroom, I have worked with with children in coaching Boys' and Girls' Basketball and have established a Jr. High Boys' mentoring program known as Boys2Men. I am now wanting to take my love for children and the desire to impact a whole community outside of the classroom. I am currently pursuing my Masters degree in Educational Administration and Leadership from Arizona State University West. I will graduate and get my certification in May of 2001. Soon after, I hope to become a school administrator.
