I do believe that technology should, and must be used in the classroom. However, there are stipulations to that statement. Technology should be used by knowledgeable people. Technology can only be effective if the person using the various tools is skilled. Technology can also be expensive. It is a teacher's responsibility to model appropriate use of the tools, so that students don't damage the product. Students need to know how to use the tools, as well as their intended purposes.

Once students are aware of the ever expanding uses of technology, they can persue the journey of becoming life-long learners and productive members of society. Reasearch shows that half of today's jobs are in the Information industry. Often and early use of technology will give students the edge they need to get into the workforce.
