Introduction

At the first staff meeting of the year, you and your fellow colleagues were asked by your Principal to develop computer generated presentations about members of your grade-level teams. He/she wants to increase morale by having staff members know one another better, as well as introduce the new employees of the school to the existing staff. You have been told to use one of the most common and administratively supported pieces of presentation software, Microsoft PowerPoint, and need to have the presentation complete by next month's staff meeting.

The Task

Each grade-level team will be held responsible for giving a creative PowerPoint presentation about the personal information and interests of each team member.

The Process

1. Link to, and print the   PERSONAL INFORMATION SHEET.

2. Completely fill out and turn in P.I.S. to the Team Leader.

3. Team Leader will schedule meeting times for the formulation of slide show.

4. The PowerPoint presentation must be done as a group with each person doing a section. Each member of the team will need to build his/her page, seeking assistance from the web and/or teammates as needed.

5. The finalized PowerPoint slide show should have an opening slide, one slide per team member, and a closing slide. This will be shone during the second month's staff meeting.

Resources

Listed below, are sites that will provide guidance and serve as resources to beginning and completing your task. Many of those sites have links to other sites which may be helpful. However, be careful not to lose focus of your goal of producing a PowerPoint presentation.

Take your knowledge of PowerPoint into your classroom and begin developing a slide show on your classroom. Include pictures of children's work, pictures of activities, and /or information regarding students' and classroom happenings. This presentation will be shown on your classroom computer during Open House. Make sure parents and students give permission to take pictures of themselves and of their work samples before putting them into your slide show!
