Rosemary Wells

Rosemary Wells was first given extra attention for her talent as an artist as a child. She drew constantly. Compliments on her artwork gave her great encouragement. Her art helped her to later become a writer. She believes that writers must observe other people constantly just as artists do.

She loves to write and illustrate books. Ms. Wells says that it is hard work but never boring work.

Here is her very entertaining web site.

My favorite Wells' book is Morris' Disappearing Bag. Morris gets an Disappearing Bag for Christmas. What would you do with a Disappearing Bag? What would you put in it? Where would you keep it? Make a list.

Ms. Wells uses a lot of rabbits as characters in her books. Visit this site for some rabbit information and fun activities.

An interview with Ms. Wells with advice for writers. It's pretty difficult reading.
