Get your math journals and a pencil to take notes.

Use the pictures and words to help you understand the definitions. Looking at the definitions will be a start towards understanding the definitions. We will also talk about what these words mean.

In your groups talk about your what you think each term means. Ask each other for help if you do not understand. After discussing theses meanings ask one of the teachers to come to your group to hear about what you have learned.

You may also look at the next two pictures and read the short explanations. These explanations are hard to understand, do your best and ASK FOR HELP!

After you have gone to the Isosceles Triangle Conjectures Page and taken notes in your math journal please talk about what you learned in your groups. Then pick one of the following activities to do:

• Use some of the construction materials that we have in the classroom and create and create an example and a non-example of an isosceles triangle. Make it large enough to share with the class. Write an explanation to go with each triangle.
• Use KidPix to try to draw two different sized isosceles triangles. Explain in writing how you know each one is an isosceles triangle.
