Educational Autobiography
Hello! My name is Dawn Picard. I am an Arizona native. I completed my undergraduate work at Arizona State University West and did my student teaching right here at Miller. I am presently working on my Masters Degree in Elementary Education with a Concentration in English as a Second Language (ESL).
I have been teaching in the Washington Elementary School District for a little over seven years now. I taught full-day kindergarten for five of those years and half-day kindergarten the last two years. I love working with five and six year olds and watching them develop throughout the year!
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family. I take as many classes as I can to keep well informed of current educational trends, teaching strategies, and educational issues. I believe that people never truly finish learning. I am thrilled to be a life long learner and hope my students will be too!
