School/Student-User Contract Computer/Network Information
School technology systems are to strictly assist in the enhancement of learning and exchange of information among all members of the educational community. Our goal is to promote educational excellence in the use of technology and the Internet.
1) Acceptable Use. The use of student and teacher assigned accounts should be in support of education and research and within the educational goals of the school.
2) Access. A student's open use of the network and Internet requires the acceptance of the Student Contract. Teachers and parents should review the contract with students and have them sign the contract before allowing them to access the network. The System Administrator will decide appropriate use of the network.
3) Inappropriate Use. If inappropriate use of the network is found a teacher, administrator or the System Administrator may close an account or limit access (and or software) within an account at any time. The student handbook should be used as a guide to utilizing referrals in reference to prohibited or unacceptable use of network resources.
Inappropriate use may include but is not limited to the following:
· Transmission of any material in violation of any federal or other state organizations; i.e. copyrighted material, threatening or obscene material (hate group propaganda, etc.) or material protected by trade secret.
· Activities for profit institutions, uses.
· Gambling.
· For product advertisement, including political lobbying
· Use which shall serve to disrupt the use of the network by other users
· Use of another user's password or allowing another student to use your password.
· Any attempts to login to a network's restricted or secure areas.
· Any behaviors that are prohibited in the Student Handbook.
4) You accept personal responsibility for:
· Reporting any misuse of the network to the System Administrator.
Misuse includes:
· Messages sent or received that indicate or suggest pornography.
· Unethical or illegal solicitation.
· Racism, sexism, inappropriate language.
· Gambling.
· All other misuses defined in the Student Handbook and listed above.
5) Security. Notify the System Administrator or teacher at once if any security violations occur.
6) Network Etiquette. Use of the network, including e-mail, should be limited to educational uses. Students are to adhere to network rules or any rules given in the Student Handbook that apply.

· Notifying parents if you instruct students to create web pages and/or how to post web pages on the Internet.
· Before posting any pictures of students or student assignments, parent permission must be given. Do not use student names, addresses, phone numbers or any other information about students when posting information.
· All rules of conduct described in the Student Handbook apply when students are on the network or use the network to produce or post information /assignments.
5) Security. Notify the System Administrator at once if any security violations occur.

Publication Permission Form **No student information (name, id, phone, address) should ever be given out as part of a publication on the World Wide Web (Internet).
