Students search for historical events using the Internet and present findings to the class. This is a basic plan with clear objectives but could be extended with cooperative groups and technological presentations.
Giving a Persuasive Presentation	Language Arts - high school Clear objectives invite students to integrate technology while they create visual presentations of their persuasive arguments. The teacher provides some direction as students work to brainstorm, research, draft and create their presentations. The tool list and extensions are available.
An Emotional Event Sparks Poetry	Language Arts - high school The Internet provides the information about an event students will use to research and write poetry about. Students must use higher-level thinking skills as they write about an event they did not personal experience. The lesson requires active participation and is flexible.
In the News	Language Arts, Social Studies - high school Standards and objectives are clear. Students choose the article to be discussed and research a breaking story using technology.
