Please note that you will need to coach the Clipboard Managers to install Adobe Manager if it is not already on the computer being used. The icon on the Introduction page will link you to a free download. In order for you to print out the Family Profiles page, you will need Adobe as well. Please bear in mind that this an open ended activity.

Also, I would make a point of encouraging the teams to pick a fluent reader for the Homepage Hunter. Certainly the team members should support each other as they encounter challenges.

Prior to our first venture into the quest, I plan to review the rubrics and show them where to find them for reference purposes. I may have them reword the rubrics after they work on the quest so they have more ownership in the lesson. This option is considered on the reflection page.

A story like The Country Mouse and the City Mouse (online) could be used in conjunction with this lesson.

This lesson is designed to support the Arizona State Standards 3SS-F1, (PO 1, PO 5, PO 6) and 3SS-F2 (PO 2 and PO 3). It also supports the following language arts standards: R-F2, R-F3, R-F6 (PO 2-4), R-F7 (PO 1 ); W-F2, W-F1. The WebQuest supports technology standards IT-F1-3, 2T-F1-2. 5T-F1. 6T-F1. Many Workplace Standards must be used in this lesson as well.

I had the ulterior motive of helping my class get better acquainted with locations around our home state. Consequently, many of the towns and cities are from Arizona. If you want to personalize this quest for your state, many of the URLs contain general sites that can be changed for different locations.
