Notes to the Teacher

Why Teach Technology

Enhancing Literacy with Technology

This web quest was created as a collaborative project for my class and Mrs. Jones' third graders. Mrs. Jones will have her class research zoo animals on the web. They will be responsible for collecting pictures and facts for each animal. They will then post their findings on the web.

During that time, My Kindergarten class will be observing zoo animals using web cameras. We will draw and write about our daily observations. After we have observed animals for week, I will assign each student two animals. They will draw a picture of what they think their animal looks like, its' diet and its' habitat. They will then link to Mrs. Jones class findings and find their two animals. They will copy and paste the picture of their animal and the important facts about their animal. When we are finished, we will print copies of our pages and make them into a class book.

We will meet with Mrs. Jones class at the zoo. We will provide each student with a copy of our book. We will them break into teams and as we explore the zoo, we will look for the animals that are highlighted in our books.
