Introduction

South Korea is a country with long history, over 4000 years. South Korea has its northern border with North Korea, faces China to the west across the Yellow Sea, and Japan to the east and south across the Sea of Japan. The line dividing the south from the north runs roughly along the 38th parallel. Korea has four distinct seasons, with a wet monsoon / summer in the middle of the year, and a very cold winter from November to March. Korea' stunning landscape makes you get out in the open air and exert yourself.

Korean society is based on the tenets of Confucianism. Confucianism is big on devotion and respect-for parents, family, friends and those in positions of authority. Many Koreans attribute their country's remarkable success in recent decades to this attitude.

In this project you will be exploring all aspects of what Korea has. Your job as a member of a group is to gather information about the Korea and let other students know. They might have dreams to visit Korea someday after listen to you.

You will find out about Korea by following these steps.

The Task

You and your group members are planning to go on a trip to Korea. In order to be efficient and convenient trip you will need to become familiar with

• information about the people

  • food
• the climate
• identify a flag of Korea
• a copy of Korea's map
  • capital city
  • 3 other major cities

• a wriitten summary and an oral presentation about Korea

The Process

Students will be places into groups of five. Each person in the group will choose one of the roles, surf the links provided, and collect any information to create your products for your class presentation.

1. Historian

• Gather data on the geography, language, and the people of Korea.

2. Meteorologist

• Find out what the climate is like so that students know what to pack for the trip

3. Illustrator

• Reproduct the country's map and flag

4. Travel Guide

• Gather information on what cities is good places to sightsee, what food to be served, and also find out the current exchange rate for the nation.

5. Teacher

• Find out what Korean school system is like and what difference is from yours.

Conclusion

Korea is a small country with lots to see and learn. Through this project, you will have vital information about the country. Probably you can learn one or more language except for your native language and experiene diversity. You wil also know more about the geography, climate and people of Korea.
