You will be given an individual grade for each project. Use the rubrics associated with each portion of the WebQuest to guide you in your work. These rubrics will tell you exactly how you will be graded for each of the three main parts.

Evaluate your WebQuest using the following questions. After answering the following questions in writing, share your responses with members of a small group of students from the class.

  1. Were you able to identify a hero based on your understanding of the characteristics of a hero?
  2. Was accurate and current information about your hero available on the Internet?
  3. Is your want-ad creative, appealing, and professional looking?
  4. Does your PowerPoint presentation demonstrate the reason why the person you researched was considered a hero? Was your presentation thought provoking and interesting to watch?
  5. Is your essay written in proper form and does it express a clear opinion substantiated by facts? Is it persuasive and supported with facts?

  1. Do you feel the WebQuest "In Search of a Hero" was an effective learning experience? Explain.
  2. What persuaded you to choose the person you nominated as "Hero of the Year" in your essay?
  3. Did the PowerPoint presentation affect your choice of nominee? What specifically in the PowerPoint presentation influenced you?
  4. How did you determine which information from your research was helpful and accurate?
  5. If you were doing this activity again, what would you do differently?
  6. What suggestions or hints would you offer to future students doing this WebQuest?
