What is a Habitat? The area where a plant or animal naturally grows and lives.
For our study of Habitats we will learn about five different Habitats: Desert, Grasslands,Jungle, Polar Regions, and Oceans.

Polar regions, are very cold and dark areas of the earth. The ground is frozen and there is little light. There are almost no trees. There is grass, small shrubs, and low flowering herbs.

Grass Lands - Land with grass growing on it. The most well known grasslands or savannas are found in Africa.

Desert - An area so arid because of little rainfall that it supports only sparse and widely spaced vegetation or no vegetation at all

Jungle - A wild land overgrown with dense vegetation, often nearly impenetrable, esp. tropical vegetation or a tropical rain forest.

Ocean - The vast body of salt water that covers almost three fourths of the earth's surface.
