Homework will be given on most full weeks of school. In the first
grade homework is assigned to reinforce classroom activities and to
instill responsibility in students rather than to assess their performance
on the work completed. Homework grades will not be assigned.

Policy

Graded papers will come home in your child's folder. Please review
them to see if your child needs extra practice with a particular skill.
Parent teachers conferences are held twice during the year, first
on October 9th and 10th, second on March 11th and 12th. Report cards
are sent quarterly.

My child should be able to:
Write his/her first and last name.
Recognize
all of the letters of the alphabet.
Know
the sounds of all the of the letters.
Form
letters and numerals correctly.
Read
the basic color words.
Read
the number words one through ten.
Write
the numerals 1 through 20 correctly.
Know
how to tie his/her shoes.
Manipulate
a variety of materials correctly. (crayons, pencils,
....scissors, glue)
Listen
to and follow directions.
Read
and recognize required vocabulary words introduced in
....kindergarten. These words must be
mastered to be successful in the
....1st Grade Reading Program.
