Introduction

O
ur local Zoo Planning Committee has decided to create a new A to Z Zoo in your area. You have been chosen to learn about one of the 26 animal that will be living at the new zoo. As a class you will make a list of one animal for every letter of the alphabet. Your teacher will then assign you one of those 26 animals to research. When you are finished you will present your findings to the zoo committee. They need your help, are you ready?

Task

Your Task Is to:

1. You and your partner (your teacher will tell you who) will each be assigned and animal to learn about. First, print and fill out the K and W of the KWL worksheet (below). Print out and complete the animal question sheet. Using the Internet and Books you will collect information so that your animal's zoo home will be ready for him or her when they arrive. For example: The Koala bear will need to have Eucalyptus trees in its zoo habitat.

2. Make a Power Point slide with the help of your reading buddy. The slide will be about your animal and it's habitat. Slides from all the students in our class will be combined to make a Villa de Paz Zoo Slide Show.

4.Make a map of your animal's habitat (cage area) at the zoo. Make sure to remake the animals natural habitat as much as possible. For example: The polar bears are going to need a special cage to keep them cool.
