Air powered Rocket project

Students constructed rockets using paper sheets and wood glue. Fins were constructed from 1 gal milk cartons. Students calculated center of pressure and center of gravity to ensure stabile fight. Farthest distance flown was 102 (306 ft.) yards on a single 120 PSI air charge.

Students display completed rocket projects on pneumatic launch tubes.

 Award winning 2nd semester project

Electric motor/Fan powered catamaran.

An IntroTech student designed this boat for high speed operation. Hulls and support structure are constructed from 5/32" steel rod. Hull/structure was brazed together and covered with mylar sheeting. Drive fan was powered by a 12v motor. Power was provided by a NiCad rechargeable battery pack. Fan blade was salvaged from a small home fan.
